exact same pic, here was the email message that accompanied pic, may help...

For those that don't already know...I saw Social Distortion last night for the first time...it was freaking insane! Hands down the greatest night of my life...until I see them again in the Spring!

They played pretty much every classic (setlist below), the crowd was great, Ness is still the man (check the 1 pic I got so far)...I even got to see him challenge some idiot to a fight b/c this idiot threw a water bottle and hit Quintana (drummer) right at the beginning of their first song (Ring of Fire). Ness stopped in the middle of the song and I think his words were, "I got $500 for the pussy that threw that water bottle to meet me after the show out back so I can kick your fucking ass...etc"

    Anyway, nothing could top it!

    SETLIST
    Ring of Fire
    Reach for the Sky
    Story of My Life
    Ball and Chain
    Makin' Believe
    Don't Take Me For Granted
    I Wasn't Born To Follow
    The Creeps
    Sick Boy
    Prison Bound
    Nickles and Dimes
    Mommy's Little Monster

Pier 60 kinds sucks now- more then a few years ago the cops cracked down really hard on skate boarding and are working hard to build up the tourist industry. How long have you been away?

Your a little older than me, but not by much. I never went to 911, but I used to go to the Ritz before it was masquerades, and club detroit in St. Pete.

The Refuge was a good place for shows, kind of like sound idea, very DIY, but a much bigger space- lots of bands came through there (I have a million Duane Peters stories). It was great while it was open- then St. Pete cracked down because they were trying to get baseball in town and they shut the refuge down because they fed the homeless and occasionally gave them a place to sleep (kinda like food not bombs).

I don't know Frank, I think I met him once or twice, but I used to know Tereasa from Crash and Burn. I don't go there anymore because she's so crazy- she used to call my house and try to sell me shoes, she would leave messages like a hit man.

If your friend sent the same pic he ripped it from me. I wonder where he got it? Can you ask him?

Some local bands from back in the day I can think of would be Dead End Kids & Car Bomb Driver, my friends were in Antifreeze and the Scams, but they might have been a few years back for you, I don't know.

They closed Crash and Burn? Damn- I'm out of the loop- you don't even live here and you know more than me! That must have been one hell of a going out of business sale.
Do you remember the Pink Lincolns? They had a big Punk in the Park thing in St. Pete- I think every punk I've ever met then and since in the area was at that. There was also Junction Pizza in St. Pete, saw a good deal of shows there - and the Blue Chair in Ybor....

The organ/vocal only first verse to Prison Bound was the highlight on the evening for me.

Yeah- that douche was friends with the whole "too cool for school" crowd that was telling Tiger Army to get off the stage. They "just bought all the CDs" to prepare for the show. I'm not against new fans, but don't fuck up the show for other people.

When someone falls you don't kick them and pour your beer on them, you drop what you're doing and you help them up. Just alot of mean spirited shit going on because these kids haven't been conditioned. If you're out to hurt people and throw punches and jabs when people are down or aren't facing you, you get your ass beat. In a smaller atmosphere these kids probably wouldn't have the balls, but if they did pull that shit, they would be set straight right away.

Same kinda thing is happening at the Hank III shows. Ever since he started touring with Superjoint Ritual he's been bringing in a bunch of kids to his own shows. That's all well and good if they had a clue how to behave. I stay out of the pit area but do want to be up close. Sorry, there's no reason to be slamming people on the sidelines during the country set. Some chick in Houston had the nerve to tell me I should stand in the back if I don't like it.
